Kitchen Cabinet Finishing

The following articles outlined below are intended to give you a basic understanding of what types of finishes are available for kitchen cabinet finishing.

In our business we like to use alcohol based stains along with 3) coats of pre catalyzed liquor. There are different types of stains to use for the various species of wood; they all take a stain differently.

For example if you were to try to use an oil stain on maple in a dark color you could realize a lot of blotchiness to the end result. You should always do many tests until you find the right color and finish.

Again, it's advisable to consult with a local cabinet finishing contractor in your area prior to proceeding with any stainging of your kitchen cabinets. Do not just take the word of a person working at a large home improvement store!
